FeraMAX® Pd Powder 15
FeraMAX® Pd Powder 15 makes iron therapy convenient for children. It has a pleasant grape raspberry taste to help children stay with the treatment and does not stain teeth.
Authorized use: Helps prevent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia. Suitable for infants, children, adolescents and adults.
Dissolved in warm or room temperature water, or mix with soft food or powdered cereal.
Flexible dosing: 15 mg elemental iron per scoop (1/4 tsp).
Does not stain teeth.

- Ferric ion is complexed with homogenous polydextrose to make a polydextrose-iron complex (PDIC), ensuring more uniform molecular structure and reproducible quality

Recommended use:
Helps prevent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia.
Clear dosing:
- Each ¼ teaspoon (scoop included inside box with bottle of powder) of FeraMAX Powder 15 contains 15 mg of element iron
- Dosing by age and weight of the child (3 – 6 mg/kg of body weight) and degree of iron deficiency, or as directed by a health care practitioner
- Dosing is once daily or as directed by a healthcare practitioner
Infants and children (3 years or younger):
- Take ¼ or ½ tsp ( 1-2 scoops or 15-30 mg of elemental iron)
Children (4–13 years):
- Take ¼ to ½ tsp (1-2 scoops or 15–30 mg of elemental iron)
Adolescents and adults (14 years and older):
- Take ½ to ¾ tsp (2-3 scoops or 30–45 mg of elemental iron)
Iron (Polydextrose-iron complex) 15mg per ¼ teaspoon.
Grape and raspberry flavouring, maltodextrin, sucralose.

- Infants and children (3 years or younger): Take ¼ or ½ tsp (15-30 mg of elemental iron), 1 time per day. Dosing by weight of the child (3 - 6 mg/kg of body weight) and degree of iron deficiency, or as directed by a health care practitioner

Dissolve dose in a small amount of water before administration to infants and children (3 years or younger). Dissolve FeraMAX® Pd Powder 15 in water or mix in soft foods or powdered cereals. Take with food, a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products. Consult your health care practitioner prior to use and for prolonged use.
Measure FeraMAX® Pd Powder 15 into level scoops (¼ tsp measure provided). Stir into warm or room temperature water until fully dissolved. Additional water may be added to dilute FeraMAX® Pd Powder 15 to taste. Solution will turn a brown color when dissolved.
Keep out of reach of children. There is enough drug in the package to seriously harm a child. At doses greater than 35 mg per day, some people may experience constipation, diarrhea and/or vomiting. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use, if you are hypersensitive to iron preparations or any ingredient in this product, if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have peptic ulcer, regional enteritis, or ulcerative colitis. Discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if you experience nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, hematemesis (vomiting of blood), or diarrhea. Stop use if hypersensitivity occurs

Dosing Calculator
This calculator is intended to recommend a general daily dose to help prevent iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia.
Nevertheless, your healthcare provider may advise using higher daily doses than what this calculator suggests, depending on the degree of your / your child’s iron deficiency, physical examination findings, signs and symptoms, laboratory results, and presence of iron deficiency anemia.
Always consult your healthcare provider to determine the appropriate daily iron dose for you / your child and read and follow the product’s label.

SUGGESTED DOSE
The suggested dose is:
Clinical guidelines recommend 2–6 mg of elemental iron per kg of body weight per day for infants and children with iron deficiency. Infants 12 months of age and younger may receive up to 3 mg of elemental iron per kg per day, with a maximum of 15 mg per day. For toddlers 1–3 years old, 3–6 mg of elemental iron per kg per day, with a maximum of 60 mg per day, may be recommended 1 . For adolescents (12 to 18 years), the usual dosage for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia is 60–120 mg of elemental iron per day 2.
